This year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and its partners will celebrate Contact Lens Health Week from August 22-26, 2016 in an effort to increase public awareness and promote healthy contact lens wear and care.
This year's program will focus on three key areas:
- Healthy contact lens hygiene habits
- Proper use, care, and storage of contact lenses and supplies
- Regular visits to an eye care provider
To help ECPs prepare for Contact Lens Health Week, the CDC has developed a variety of tools and materials available for download on their website, including downloadable posters and tear-off pads with contact lens tips that can be ordered for free. And the CDC has made available a number of messages ready for posting to Facebook and Twitter in its downloadable resources, and suggests any related social media messages include the campaign's hashtag #OnePairTakeCare.
