VSP Survey Finds Parents Lacking Info on Blue Light Exposure

A new survey from VSP® Vision Care has found that although almost two-thirds of parents felt their family spent too much time on digital devices, more than half (58 percent) were only slightly or not at all aware about blue light and their potentially harmful effects on vision and overall health.

The study also found only 13 percent of parents surveyed ranked their family's vision as the top concern when asked about what concerns them most about their family's digital device usage, and the average American child will have spent the equivalent of almost six years looking at a digital device by the time they reach the age of 17.
