Area98
Area98 recently released the new spring/summer 2017 collection for its La Matta brand. The new styles include a capsule collection (pictured right) that brings together the bold soul of the brand with a touch of modern romance, pairing traditional animal print patterns with small red roses and other floral motifs in fresh, rich and bright summer colors. Also new to them spring/summer collection, model LM3195 is a large cat-eye acetate frame with matching temples embellished with small metal gems in the hinges, while LM3198 and LM3199 feature an exotic-inspired colored metal decoration on the temples. Small colored gems look like vintage jewelry embedded into the gold or silver metal profiles adorning the temples of the LM3201, while LM3202 is characterized by its unusual bridge enhanced with a gold or silver metal detail. And tribal-inspired geometric decorations create an interesting design element on the temples of LM3203.
Area98 also recently released a new KAOS collection, featuring modern, easy-to-wear styles. Acetate model KK398 features a classic “bookish” style with its arched bridge that is ironically revisited through its multicolored front, while square-shaped styles KK407 and KK408 sport a studded effect metal plate applied at the hinges that gives personality to the temples. Model KK411 is a round acetate/metal combo frame with multicolored front and temples, and KK405 features an arched bridge and temples decorated with a mesh geometric pattern.
ClearVision Optical
ClearVision Optical recently introduced new five optical styles and three sun styles from BCBGMAXAZRIA. Three of the new optical styles — Evie, Thea, and Willow — are also new additions to the SLP (super light plastic) sub-collection, providing the look of acetate in an ultra-thin and lightweight design. Other new optical styles include Tovah — an easy-to-wear yet very chic frame with a rectangular eye shape — and Raylynn (pictured left), featuring a modified square eye shape and matching front and temples for a clean look. And new sun styles include the acetate/metal combo Beckon, Covet that features unique fade colorations for a one-of-a-kind look, and the chic Exquisite with a modified square eye shape and gradient lenses.
Also new from ClearVision are three new optical styles for men and women for Aspire Eyewear. For women, the new Elegant frame features a modified square eye shape and stainless steel temples are very thin, providing a delicate, feminine look, while Grand is a Petite Fit frame with stainless steel temples sporting unique cut-out designs. And for men, Excellent features a vintage look with a modified round eye shape and keyhole bridge.
Costa
New from Costa are nine new frame styles for its Optical Collection for prescription eyeglass wearers, updating the look and feel of the Bimini Road, Mariana Trench and Ocean Ridge styles. The three new Bimini Road styles, while still retaining their sleek metal design, now feature Monel® which provides a more affordable option than titanium for fans of the Costa Optical collection. The four new Mariana Trench styles (pictured right) feature a combination of acetate and Monel in innovative color patterns such as Tokyo Tortoise and Seashell Tortoise. And the Ocean Ridge collection is designed in response to the strong popularity of this collection, featuring lightweight, great-fitting sport frames made from nearly indestructible bio-based resin nylon.
And at Vision Expo East, Costa announced the release of its OCEARCH Limited Edition sunglasses for 2017. For the past 10 years, Costa has helped support the expeditions of OCEARCH, which is a group of scientists dedicated to generating previously unattainable data on the movement, biology and health of sharks. For the first time, Costa has directly tied sunglass sales to the cause, with a portion of the limited-edition collection's proceeds being donated to OCEARCH.
Kenmark Eyewear
Kenmark Eyewear recently announced the re-launch of kensie sunwear, featuring four styles. New style Make Me Blue is a chic combination square full zyl sunglass with a metal bridge, featuring pattern metal detailing and zyl temples. In My Opinion (pictured left) is a feminine, round zyl sunglass featuring a zyl pattern on the front and temples and metal arrow detailing on the temples. Dream Big is a full rim metal aviator with acetate detailing on the bridge and top bar. And For Real is a classic wayfarer sunglass with a metal logo on temples, available in the colors Cherry, Blue Stripe, Dark Tortoise, and Grey Herringbone.
Marcolin
Marcolin recently launched the Timberland® Spring/Summer 2017 eyewear collection that is both eco-conscious and stylish. Two new sunglass models include TB9115 — a bio-injected frame made from 35 percent natural and renewable materials — and the minimalistic TB9117 accentuated by the lightweight and metal structure of its temples. And new optical styles include the square-shaped TB1564 that reduces thickness to a bare minimum; rectangular acetate TB1565 (pictured right) with metal temples with a contrast rubber insert; and style TB1568 made of recycled metal with a combination of matte colors on the frame front and temples. New optical style TB1571 features a large square frame front in biodegradable plastic obtained from renewable plant-based raw materials, and TB1572 stands out thanks to the traditional panto shape in alternating vintage and contemporary accents.
MYKITA
MYKITA recently introduced the first optical models in its STUDIO collection (pictured left). Radical in their reduced material concept, the STUDIO 5 models all feature slender stainless steel frames with a thick powder coating. In sunny powder pastels or a dark mineral patina, the pure shapes assume the mood of their respective colorway. And perfectly flush temple ends appear as though dipped in liquid acetate. Color options include Champagne Gold, Silver, Black, Rose, Pale Blue, Dusty Rust and Granite Grey.
Nouveau Eyewear
Nouveau Eyewear has launched a new collection of women's designer sunglasses — Realtree Girl Sunwear — with six models in multiple colorways. Each style features mirrored polarized lenses in fashion-forward colors, and select styles have polycarbonate shatter-resistant lenses. Style G200 is a stylish twist on a classic shape in clear or translucent green with tinted mirrored lenses and a keyhole bridge, while G201 (pictured right) is an aviator in shiny black metal with pink camo or gold with teal camo. Style G202 is a vintage-inspired design bursting with color, while G204 is another aviator that is big on bling with glistening jeweled accents on each temple. And style G203 is the boldest style, featuring a large round front for a Hollywood look and a richly-colored trim on the top of the brow creating a cat-eye silhouette.
Ray-Ban
New from Ray-Ban is the new full-metal collection, Blaze (picture left), which introduces a flat lens-over-frame construction that revamps iconic Ray-Ban shapes for a clean-cut perspective. This eye-catching new lens construction redefines timeless profiles with colorful energy and a luminous new edge. The new lenses are offered on original Ray-Ban icons including the Round, Clubmaster, and Shooter, as well as a provocative new feminine cat-eye shape where flat-metal frames contrast brushed, striped and demi-gloss finishes with colorful flat-flash and mirror shades.
RETROSUPERFUTURE
New from RETROSUPERFUTURE® is Ginza (pictured right) — a new line of sunglasses that distils the essence of 90s design in a contemporary aesthetics. The line features three different pairs of sunglasses shaped by a sleek metallic frame and matched with vibrant, colorful lenses. Each style is crafted entirely out of sheets of thin but sturdy metal, making designs that closely resemble optical frames with thin lines, clean shapes and a polished feel.
And also new from RETROSUPERFUTURE is Numero 24 — a bold piece inspired by retro-style eyewear designs and adapted for contemporary use. Designed for the spring/summer 2017 optical collection, Numero 24 features three chromatic interpretations: a caramel crystal acetate matched with gold metal, a crystal acetate paired with silver metal and a combination of havana acetate and gun metal.
Robert Marc
New from Robert Marc is the new spring/summer 2017 collection inspired by St. Tropez (pictured left). The spring collection materials and colors are an extension of St. Tropez’s elegant, splendid and intuitive sense of luxurious style. The women’s collection feature flirtatious sensual shapes in unique, refined color combinations such as Chagall-inspired floral tortoise fronts contrasted with dark color rich acetate temples. Women's colors include Jet Black, St. Tropez Tortoise, French Riviera, Bougainvillea and Tortoise Vert. And the men's collection introduces a new “St. Tropez” temple design, which combines two acetate materials to create a distinguished, handsome, vintage effect while highlighting the hand craftsmanship of the eyewear. Men's colors include Cobblestone, Bronzed Tortoise, Coastal Blue, Olive Tree and Vintage Pink Crystal.
Zimco Optics
The Zimco Optics Twister Collection (pictured right) offers the ultimate experience in comfort and performance. The collection is designed out of "memory metal" that can be bent and deformed, but will "pop" back into its original shape. This shape-memory alloy is flexible and unsurpassed in quality, color, and durability. Appealing to men and women, the Twister Collection features everything from full-rimmed to rimless drill mount frames. Zyloware Eyewear
New from Zyloware Eyewear are five new athleisure-inspired styles for Shaquille O'Neal Eyewear. Model QD 123M is a full rim metal frame featuring sleek and refined detailing, while QD 124M offers an on-trend rectangle shape that flatters a variety of facial shapes and subtle cut-out on the endpiece for added detail. Style 125M is athleisure-inspired, full rim metal style for the guy who wants a frame that can keep up with his active lifestyle. Model 126Z is a full rim zyl frame that effortlessly blends sporty and stylish into one, and 127Z (pictured left) is a full rim, zyl frame with a masculine rectangle shape and sporty pops of color.
Zyloware also recently released three new optical styles for Via Spiga. The new Ilaria is a full rim zyl frame with an on-trend rectangle shape, offered in two fashion-forward color palettes, while Maurizia is a full rim metal frame in a flattering rectangle shape available in two unique colorways with basketweave designs on the temples or endpieces. And Vienna is a full rim zyl frame in an attractive gemoetric shape with confetti temples. There's also two new styles for Via Spiga Sun — model 353S is a full rim zyl frame that feature two silver studs on each side of the front for a touch of edgy detailing, and 354S is an on-trend, full rim zyl sunnie featuring a twist on the everyday tortoise pattern with purple and orange hues speckled throughout the front and temples.
