The Frame Update — September 29, 2016

Every first and third — and now fifth! — Thursday of the month, we will take a look at the latest collections in the eyewear industry. Enjoy the read!

A&A Optical

A&A Optical recently released two new ophthalmic styles for its luxury collection Jimmy Crystal New York™. The jewelry-inspired acetate frame Bordeaux shines bright with Swarovski crystal and baroque metal accents, while Riga is a modified oval frame crowned with multi-layered acetate, coordinating crystals and metal accent pieces.

Also new from A&A are two new styles from Crocs™ Eyewear. Model CF4312 is a modified rectangle frame that combines materials and complimentary color shades for a sophisticated, yet casual, look.  And the light and airy CF4314 frame features a classic shape in a fashion-forward design with a hidden hinge and combination temples.

And A&A has also released two new ophthalmic frames for its Seventy one™ eyewear collection. The Bellarmine frame (pictured right) evokes an organic and bold look thanks to engineer wood grain and nature inspired hues, available in Blue Ash, Pink Dogwood and Walnut. And the sophisticated Cabrini is a semi-rimless oval frame with contrasting accent color with tinted wire and concave dots on the upper temples.

Adlens® recently unveiled an exciting new look for its AdlensRX Focuss™ line (pictured left) — the first eyewear to feature Variable Power Optics (VPO™) technology that mimics the eye’s natural dynamic behavior and allows patients to adjust their vision between near, intermediate and distance at the turn of a dial, offering four times more viewing area than the leading progressive lenses. The company unveiled a new brand identity and updated logo, as well as a more sophisticated color palette.

New from the Area98 brand KAOS is model KK395 (pictured right) — a metal feminine frame with a classic, yet jaunty design. The frame's thick-profiled rim plays on the chromatic contrasts between the inside and outside of the frame, and the same nuances are taken from acetates used for the temples and gems applied to a metal plate.

Known for their sunwear, Costa has recently launched its first optical eyeglass collection that will feature the brand's signature performance attributes along with stylish design as a variety of price points. The initial collection features 36 SKUs in five distinct collections.
