Company Overview

Volk Optical, Inc.

Booth # 912

Volk Optical (www.volk.com) is the world leader in the design and manufacturing of ophthalmic lenses for examinations and treatment. The first indirect ophthalmoscopy lens was developed 50 years ago by Dr. David Volk.  This led to the patented double aspheric lens designs still in use today, the leading standard in the ophthalmic industry. From its early beginnings to the present day, Volk has designed and developed 3 generations of contact and non-contact lenses for use in examination, diagnosis & treatment, as well as surgical applications.

You might be surprised that Volk is not just a lens company. Volk has been working vigorously to address unmet needs in portable digital imaging. With a pair of portable ophthalmic imaging devices to our credit, Volk is striving to redefine the future of ophthalmology. The Pictor Plus ophthalmic camera takes high-resolution digital images and video of the retina and anterior structures in a convenient hand-held, portable design. The Volk Eye Check, another mobile, hand-held digital imager and screening tool, takes measurements of the eyes for use in the diagnosis of strabismus, anisocoria, ptosis, and buphthalmos. In addition, Volk Eye Check has recently been upgraded with a Contact Lens Mode which allows practitioners to capture ocular measurements for use in the fitting of standard and specialty contact lenses. Volk Eye Check gets contact lens fit right the first time.

Volk will be offering all of its ophthalmic lens products for sale from the tradeshow booth at AOA. From non-contact BIO lenses, and slit lamp lenses, to contact laser & diagnostic lenses, Volk will be offering its full line of lenses as well as complimentary laser engraving and a free-multi-lens case with the purchase of any lens.

Volk will also feature its portable fundus camera, the Pictor Plus, as well as the Volk Eye Check ocular imaging device with its brand new Contact Lens mode. These imaging devices are available for demonstration at the booth and we will be happy to set up any visitors with a complimentary 2-week trial of either device so that you can learn the value of their use in your practice.

Volk Eye Check

Volk Eye Check provides fast, accurate and objective ocular measurements within a small, mobile and cost-effective device. The device is intended to revolutionize the approach to pediatric ophthalmology and vision screening programs by easily imaging the eyes to diagnose for strabismus, anisocoria, ptosis, buphthalmos, and more.

Moreover, the Volk Eye Check’s new Contact Lens mode is designed to create opportunities for better contact lens fittings, greater patient satisfaction, decreased dropout rates, and a reduction of chair time for the practitioner. The real value of Volk Eye Check is in making smarter, faster decisions when fitting contact lenses. At AOA, Volk will be demonstrating a new feature for Volk Eye Check called the “Best Fit Analysis” package.  This cool new feature gives the practitioner suggested contact lens manufacturers and the specific contact lens model to order for the patient based upon the ocular measurements obtained using Volk Eye Check. A convenience that can save you time and make life easier.
