Polaroid Eyewear Honored by Accessories Council with Legacy Award

Safilo’s Polaroid Eyewear brand recently received the Legacy Award in honor of its 80th anniversary at the Accessories Council’s 21st Annual ACE Awards.

During the black-tie gala event, which was reportedly attended by the who’s who of the accessories industry, Henri Blomqvist, CEO of Safilo North America, was presented the award by fashion model and Polaroid brand ambassador Elliott Sailors.

And during the cocktail hour, guests were reportedly treated to a playful presentation of Polaroid sunglasses that were distributed cigarette-girl style via branded trays stocked with Polaroid sunnies while guests posed for photos in their new glasses taken with Polaroid instant cameras. And to fully experience Polaroid’s polarized lens technology, guests were reportedly given a special card offering them free admittance to a Rooftop Film series in New York City — the offer could only be seen by putting on their Polaroid polarized sunglasses.

The Accessories Council Excellence Awards (ACE Awards) were reportedly created in 1997 to honor individuals and companies who have furthered the awareness and use of accessories.
