Carl Zeiss Vision Employees Give Back to Local School

Employees from Carl Zeiss Vision, Inc., recently volunteered their time to spruce up a K-8 school in their community.

The ZEISS team reportedly spent a Saturday morning in July at the Perkins K-8 School in San Diego’s Barrio Logan neighborhood. Located in reportedly a historically low-income area, budget cuts have plagued the school and created suboptimal conditions for these already underserved children — 30 percent of the students are reportedly classified as homeless — and the faculty and staff who work with them. Volunteers reportedly painted walls and a mural, lined the asphalt play area, organized classrooms, and unpacked ZEISS-donated sports equipment.
