August is Children's Eye Health and Safety Awareness Month

Prevent Blindness has declared August as Children's Eye Health and Safety Awareness Month, and offers eye care professionals some resources to help them educate parents and caregivers about the importance of healthy vision for kids.

The National Center for Children’s Vision and Eye Health at Prevent Blindness (NCCVEH) offers a comprehensive report, "Children's Vision and Eye Health: A Snapshot of Current National Issues," for download on the organization's website. The report is reportedly a compilation of current research, survey data, and best practices that outline the current landscape for children’s vision and eye health in the United States.

In addition to the report, NCCVEH also offers other resources such as downloadable vision screening and training information, the Prevent Blindness Children’s Vision Screening Certification Course, patient education fact sheets, vision care financial assistance information, and much more.

Prevent Blindness also announced OCuSOFT ® Inc. will donate 10 percent of all online sales to Prevent Blindness during the month of August to support children's vision programs.
