 KYCO Appoints Interim Associate Dean, Director of Contact Lenses

The University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO) recently appointed Dr. Donnie Akers as interim associate dean for academic affairs, and Dr. Donald J. Egan as director of contact lenses.

As interim associate dean for academic affairs, Akers will reportedly work as the chief reviewer and developer of the faculty and the academic curriculum for KYCO. Additionally, he will continue his overall responsibility for the gross anatomy course and the virtual anatomy laboratory he created on campus.

And in his new position as director of contact lenses, Egan will reportedly be responsible for the creation, development and execution of the contact lens course and laboratory. The curriculum has reportedly been developed to include a full cornea contact lens, specialty contact lens didactic and clinical program.
