The American Academy of Optometry Foundation (AAOF) recently announced the 11 recipients of the 2017 William C. Ezell Fellowship program, which provides post-doctoral students who are pursuing an advanced degree in optometric research and education with recognition and support.
Named after the founding president of the AAOF, Dr. William C. Ezell, to date over 300 fellowships have been awarded since the start of the program in 1949.
This year's recipients include:
- American Academy of Optometry Ezell Fellow — Dr. Maria K. Walker, University of Houston College of Optometry
- American Academy of Optometry Foundation Karla Zadnik Ezell Fellow — Dr. Katherine M. Bickle,
- The Ohio State University College of Optometry
- AAO Section on Cornea, Contact Lenses and Refractive Technologies Ezell Fellow — Dr. Erin Rueff, The Ohio State University College of Optometry
- Baycross Christian Family Foundation Binocular Vision and Pediatrics Ezell Fellow — Dr. Ann M. Morrison, The Ohio State University College of Optometry
- Irvin M. Borish – Essilor Ezell Fellow — Dr. Ian Erkelens, University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science
- Mike Daley – Essilor Ezell Fellow — Dr. Suraj Upadhyaya, University of Houston College of Optometry
- Merton C. Flom Leadership Ezell Fellow — Dr. Phillip Thomas Yuhas, The Ohio State University College of Optometry
- Michael G. Harris Ezell Fellow — Dr. Elise N. Harb, University of California Berkeley School of Optometry
- Optometric Glaucoma Society Ezell Fellow — Dr. Nevin W. El-Nimri, University of California Berkeley School of Optometry
- John H. Schoen Ezell Fellow — Dr. Kevin Thomas Willeford, State University of New York College of Optometry
