Vivid Vision Raises $2.2M, Plans to Launch Home Vision Treatment

Vivid Vision recently announced it has raised $2.2 million with the goal of using the new round of funding to expand and accelerate its vision care platform.

According to Vivid Vision, the seed round was led by Jeff Clavier from SoftTech VC, with additional investors including The Venture Reality Fund, CRCM Ventures, SOS Ventures, Anorak Ventures, and Liquid 2 Ventures.

The company also announced since the launch of its clinical vision therapy suite in late 2015, its new treatment for binocular vision disorders is now available in more than 90 clinics across the globe, and has been used to treat more than 6,000 patients.

Although Vivid Vision's treatment is currently only available in clinics under the supervision of a trained eye care professional, the company reportedly plans to release its home vision of the treatment — Vivid Vision Home — later this year. Vivid Vision Home reportedly runs on both desktop and mobile VR platforms and will require a prescription from an eye doctor.
