 PEN Offering Summer Educational Events for ECPs

Primary Eyecare Network (PEN), a division of ABB Optical Group, is offering five educational events for eye care practitioners this summer, including both online and in-person options.

The education schedule includes:

Billing the Tough Stuff
June 7, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. PT
Online webinar; Free for PEN members; $15 for non-members
This webinar will review commonly denied claims, filing appeals, resubmitting denied claims and post-op cataract billing.

Frame Adjusting 
June 22, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Alameda, Calif.; Cost: $110 for PEN members; $155 for non-members
This interactive workshop will offer participants a fundamental, practical, hands-on frame adjusting experience, covering front-to-back, custom adjustment techniques on both plastic and metal frames.

Frame Selection
June 22, 1 to 4 p.m.
Alameda, Calif.; Cost: $110 for PEN members; $155 for non-members
This informative workshop, recommended for all optical staff, will help participants become an expert frame stylist and give tips on how to find the best eyewear for their patients’ vision needs.

Center for Paraoptometric Education
July 10-12, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily
Alameda, Calif.; Cost: $520 per person for PEN members; $675 per person for non-members
This three-day CPE workshop will cover fundamental optics; prescription verification and troubleshooting; lens types and materials; frames, including styling, adjusting and repairs; selling skills, and more.

Risk Assessment
August 2, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. PT
Online Webinar; Free for PEN members; $15 for non-members
This webinar will cover risk assessments that are required to meet compliance guidelines and meaningful use attestations.
