 Essilor, Optometry Giving Sight Award Student Loans to Optometry Students in Africa

Essilor of America and Optometry Giving Sight recently awarded study loans to six optometry students at Mzuzu University in Malawi, Africa.

The loans will reportedly cover full tuition and living costs for the five years of the Bachelor of Vision Science, starting this academic year.

The Optometry Development program in Malawi is reportedly an initiative of the Brien Holden Vision Institute, Mzuzu University, Malawi College of Health Sciences and Optometry Giving Sight. The School of Optometry was reportedly established in 2009 and to date has produced 35 graduates. There are currently 71 students enrolled in the program.
