ABB Optical Group Offering Paraoptometric Education, Eyes of America Seminar

ABB Optical Group is offering educational opportunities this spring for both optometrists and paraoptometrics through its division, Primary Eyecare Network (PEN), and also announced another division, Digital Eye Lab, will receive a business partner award.

Diversified Ophthalmics, Inc. — which was acquired by ABB Optical Group in 2016 — will offer its Eyes of America Spring Seminar on Sunday, April 23, 2017, from 7am to 5pm at the Hilton Garden Inn in West Chester, OH. Participants will reportedly have the opportunity to hear from industry experts and earn nine hours of optometric continuing education credits. Session topics will reportedly include billing and coding, ocular disease management, eye care and sleep apnea, and molecular pigment optical density.

The morning session costs $170, the lunch lecture costs $40, and the afternoon session costs $145. The cost for participants who plan to attend the full day is $250. To register, visit EyesOfAmerica.org or call 800-444-9230.

And PEN will offer its annual Center for Paraoptometric Education (CPE) workshops May 10-12 and July 10-12, 2017. The intensive, hands-on, comprehensive workshops are reportedly designed to help new optical staff master the skills they need to succeed in private practice. The workshops will cover fundamental optics; prescription verification and troubleshooting; lens types and materials; frames, including styling, adjusting and repairs; selling skills, and more.

Both workshops will take place from 8:30 am to 5 pm at the PEN Education Center in Alameda, Calif. The cost to attend a workshop is $520 for PEN members and $675 for non-members. To register or for more information, visit PrimaryEye.net or e-mail [email protected].

And Digital Eye Lab, a division of ABB Optical Group, will be honored at Arc of Westchester's Annual Employer Breakfast on April 26th with the New Business Partner Award. Arc of Westchester has reportedly been connecting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as those with autism spectrum disorder, to the Westchester employment community since 1949. DEL has four employees who were recruited through Arc of Westchester and regularly partners with the organization to promote a diverse workplace.
