 Alcon Launches Consumer and ECP Programs, Renews Commitment to Think About Your Eyes

Alcon, a division of Novartis, recently launched programs for both consumers and eye care professionals (ECPs), announced its recommitment to Think About Your Eyes, and reported results of its Bubble Upgrade Challenge survey.

For consumers, Alcon has launched AIR OPTIX® Choice  a new program aiming to provide patients access to the latest technology in monthly contact lenses and an easy-to-remember replacement schedule. The program reportedly offers significant savings on most AIR OPTIX contact lenses. Additionally, Alcon will be extending its existing DAILIES® Choice Program.

For ECPs, has launched the Alcon Vision Care Marketing Portal, offering e-marketing tools and training plus patient educational videos and other content to help ECPs become the "go-to" eye care resource for their patients online. Located at alconODmarketing.com, the portal also includes social media content, brand logos and product photography, and lifestyle photography that ECPs can use on their websites and social media channels.

Alcon also recently announced in 2016, it directly supported eye health with nearly 650 medical missions that served more than 480,000 patients around the world and facilitated more than 47,000 surgeries — a total market value of donated products and equipment totaling almost $73 million.

The company also announced it will continue its support for the Think About Your Eyes public awareness campaign. This year, Alcon has reportedly committed to donate $5 to the program for every annual supply of Alcon daily or monthly contact lenses purchased by patients, up to a total of $2 million.

And Alcon recently reported results of its Bubble Upgrade Challenge survey that shows 81 percent of patients surveyed agreed their lenses felt like new after using CLEAR CARE® PLUS with HydraGlyde hydrogen peroxide-based cleaning and disinfecting solution, as compared to 24 percent of habitual multi-purpose solution (MPS) users.
