Ophthalmic optics company Essilor and global innovation firm NineSigma have announced the three finalists of the Essilor See Change Challenge — a worldwide initiative to discover solutions that can improve lives by providing better access to vision care.
The three finalists are:
- Adaptive EyeWorks Bvba, Belgium
- IPSELIOS SAS, France
- TEAMS Design USA, Inc., USA
Additionally, a special Grand Jury Prize will reportedly be awarded to PlenOptika in the U.S. for their QuickSee handheld autorefractor unit solution.
The three finalists will each be awarded €25,000 in cash. Each finalist is invited to produce a prototype of their solution to be evaluated by Essilor, and ultimately up to two of them will reportedly receive an additional €100,000 and potential support from Essilor with development contracts to build and scale their solutions. The winners will reportedly be selected and announced by Essilor in July 2017 — visit the See Change Challenge website for updates.
