Researchers from City, University of London are collaborating with optometry schools in Norway, Spain, the Netherlands, Israel, India and the U.K. to reform optometry curricula and introduce evidence-based practice.
Called the OCULUS consortium, the group reportedly aims to bring optometry education in line with the high standards set by the European Council of Optometry and Optics by developing content and teaching strategies, as well as innovations in optometric education. Additionally, the group will work towards helping its non-European partners obtain the gold-standard European Diploma in Optometry (DipE).
