University of Utah Winning Accolades for Video Game That Helps Diagnose and Treat Amblyopia

A team of students from the University of Utah are winning awards for their video game that can help to diagnose and treat amblyopia in children.

Entertainment Arts & Engineering students Ahmad Alsaleem, Ahmad Nassari and Daniel Blair reportedly first won a national competition for their game, called HealthX, back in 2015. And most recently, the team placed third in the Innovation category at Microsoft’s international Imagine Cup, beating thousands of entries from all around the world.

HealthX is reportedly full controlled by eye movement and forces a child's lazy eye to move around the screen, helping the child strengthen the eye and find the right balance between the eyes. The video game is currently in clinical trials through the John A. Moran Eye Center.
