 The Lens Update — September 6, 2016

Here’s a look at the latest news in lenses.

  • Hoya Vision Care (see press release below) recently released “Putting Laboratory Programs in Play at Your Practice” — a paper designed to help independent practices implement the tools offered by their laboratory and helps support the Super Single Vision program designed to drive premium anti-reflective treatments, Phoenix material, and free form designs for single vision patients. This is reportedly the first paper in a series that will continue throughout the year.
  • Transitions Optical Inc. (see press release below) has released two new Family of Brands Product Reference Cards that ECPs can use when discussing Transitions® lens options with patients. The cards are available in English or bilingual English/Spanish. Both cards include information on Transitions Signature® VII lenses, Transitions XTRActive® lenses and Transitions Vantage® lenses, as well as color availability and key product benefits.
  • And FSI Coating Technologies, Inc. recently launched its new Visgard® Premium anti-fog coating for protective eyewear. The product reportedly combines primer-free adhesion to polycarbonate substrates with single layer mirror coating capability, while maintaining multi-use anti-fog properties.
