New Study Says Daylight Exposure Can Help Reduce Effects of Blue Light on Sleep

A new study from Uppsala University has found exposure to daylight can help fight sleep disturbances caused by evening exposure of blue light from electronic devices.

The study examined 14 young females and males and found that if given enough exposure to sunlight during the day, exposure to blue light from a tablet for two hours in the evening did not have a negative impact on their sleep patterns. According to researchers, their results suggest getting enough daylight exposure — through outdoor activities or enough access to light in an office environment — can help combat sleep disturbances associated with evening blue light stimulation.
