Keeler Instruments recently donated equipment to a team from the New England College of Optometry (NECO) for a charitable mission trip to Belize.
The mission team — which consisted of Drs. Lee Peplinski and Nathaniel Pelsor, 13 NECO students and three support staff — reportedly used Keeler's Vantage Plus BIO binocular indirect ophthalmoscope and PSL portable slip lamp during their five-day mission trip to provide vision screenings to almost 1,000 patients, including more than 200 students. The team also dispensed medication, provided protective and prescriptive eyewear, and referred patients for follow-up care.
