OWA to Present Female Entrepreneur Panel at VWE

The Optical Women's Association (OWA) will present a panel discussion featuring female entrepreneurs from the optical industry during Vision Expo West.

"Girl Bosses: Optical Industry Entrepreneurs" is part of OWA's Connection Series and is based on the OWA book selection, #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso, creator/CEO of Nasty Gal. The panel will feature a moderator and six panelists from five companies that will explore and provide insight into how they decided to run their own business, the challenges they've faced, how they've turned those challenges into opportunities; and how they became Girl Bosses of their own.

The panelists include:

  • Corianna Dotson and Brianna Dotson, founders of sunglass brand Coco and Breezy
  • Corinne McCormack, who founded Corinne McCormack, Inc. that is now a subsidiary of FGX International Inc.
  • Dr. Ann Rea Miller, who opened her own practice Visual Eyes in 2014
  • Kristin Ellsworth, creator of children's optical glasses business Peeps Eyewear
  • Jessica Butler, owner and designer for Eye Power Kids Wear

The event will take place Thursday, September 15th, from 12 noon to 1:30 pm. Register for the lunch and learn event at OpticalWomen.com.
