DEL Expands bluDEFENSE Line with New Lens Materials

Digital Eye Lab (DEL) — a division of ABB Optical Group — has expanded its bluDEFENSE product line with the launch of new bluDEFENSE Lens Materials.

The new lens materials reportedly feature blue-light control technology built into the lens monomer. This lets beneficial blue-turquoise light to pass through the lens while filtering out harmful blue-violet light. The bluDEFENSE Lens Materials is reportedly able to block 100 percent of harmful blue light at 420 nanometers. The new product is available in four different lens materials — polycarbonate, 1.60, 1.67 and 1.74 — and can be used in almost any lens design.

Additionally, DEL will continue to offer its CLARIS bluDEFENSE Anti-Reflective Coating that reflects harmful blue-violet and ultra-violet light and allows only beneficial light to pass through the lens.
