Allergan Donates $1M Worth of Eye Drops to First Responders

Allergan recently announced it has donated $1 million worth of Refresh® eye drops to U.S. first responders in an effort to help alleviate the discomfort of dry eye brought on by heat, wind, smoke and dust.

Allergan reportedly kicked off its Refresh America campaign last summer with a $250,000 goal. Every purchase of specially-marked packages of Refresh Optive products since August 2015 reportedly led to over 80,000 donations of Refresh eye drops to first responder groups nationwide. Allergan had partnered with the U.S. First Responders Association for this initiative, who helped designate where the eye drop donations were the most needed.

Due to the positive reception of the campaign, Allergan has also announced it will extend the Refresh America program through the end of 2017.
