Visual testing system manufacturer M&S Technologies recently announced it had added a fully-automated ETDRSR protocol to its new Clinical Trial Suite.
The automated ETDRS allows practitioners to quickly and accurately measure visual acuity without the worry of technician bias or inaccurate results, plus it uses randomly-produced letters to eliminate the possibility of memorization. The background luminance is calibrated to ANSI and ISO standards, but can be adjusted based on a practitioner's needs. And test results can be exported to any media file in any format for statistical analysis.
