Arizona, Ohio, Wyoming to Participate in Children's Vision Initiative

The states of Arizona, Ohio and Wyoming have been selected by the National Center for Children’s Vision and Eye Health at Prevent Blindness (NCCVEH) and the National Institute for Children’s Health Quality (NICHQ) to take part in an initiative to improve children's health.

Called the Improving Children's Vision: Systems, Stakeholders & Support initiative, the purpose of the program is to make improvements in the systems supporting children's vision and eye health, with a special focus on reducing the prevalence of vision problems in hard-to-reach populations of young children. The project will employ a number of principles and practices to implement changes, including strengthening statewide partnerships, increasing access and use of vision health services in hard-to-reach communities, and implementing vision health system measures of accountability.
