 Safilo Names New CEO, Renews Jimmy Choo Eyewear License, Partners with Marie Claire

The Safilo Group announced today it has named Henri Blomqvist the new CEO of Safilo North America. Blomqvist was most recently Safilo's chief commercial officer (CCO) where he helped reposition Safilo's commercial strategy.

Additionally, Safilo has reportedly renewed its agreement with Jimmy Choo for the design, manufacturing, and distribution of the Jimmy Choo Eyewear Collection. Under the new agreement, Safilo will be launching the Jimmy Choo men's collection in January 2018 with a first capsule edition in the brand's boutiques and prestigious optical stores.

And earlier this month, Safilo launched a 360-degree sunglass marketing initiative with Marie Claire magazine. Called #GETFRAMED, the initiative includes a sunglass-themed editorial special in the May 2016 issue where the highlighted sunwear are shoppable through the magazine's YouCam Makeup app, which also features virtual try-on capabilities. Safilo is also running a sweepstakes for the promotion through its Solstic Sunglasses retail chain.
