NuEyes, ODG Develop Smartglasses for People with Low Vision

NuEyes and the Osterhout Design Group (ODG) recently partnered to develop smartglasses for people with low vision due to macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa and other conditions.

The smartglasses use NuEyes' lenses and proprietary software and ODG's R-7 smartglasses, and are voice-activated, battery-powered and feature 3D stereoscopic ultra-transparent HD displays, high-speed wireless connectivity and high-performance positional sensors. They also have a camera on the bridge of the glasses capable of shooting video at a 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second.
