 Berman Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

The Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) recently announced that Dr. Morris Berman of Marshall B. Ketchum University (MBKU) will receive the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions and commitment to ASCO and optometric education.

Dr. Berman reportedly started his career at MBKU more than 30 years ago, beginning as the dean of academic affairs to ultimately become the university's first provost in June 2014. He has also served as assistant dean for education at the Illinois College of Optometry and faculty member at the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Berman is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, served as the chair for the Academic Affairs Committee of ASCO and as the first editor of ASCO’s publication Eye on Education, and co-authored the Dictionary of Visual Sciences and Related Clinical Terms. Dr. Berman plans to retire from MBKU later this year.
