VSP Global recently announced it had made a $2 million investment in California-based startup Vizzario Inc. to develop eye care technologies to track visual acuity, eye strain, traumatic brain injury, and sports vision performance.
Vizzario offers a core sensory data exchange platform, off of which different technologies can be generated such as wearables, virtual reality, and eye tracking tools. Additionally, the company uses machine learning and computer vision to help monitor and predict health outcomes through a user's data.
R&D is reportedly underway through VSP's The Shop innovation lab, with consumer-facing products expected to be unveiled later this year.
