Alcon has announced the launch of two new additions to its portfolio of eye care products. The DAILIES TOTAL1® for Astigmatism is a Water Gradient contact lens for patients with astigmatism that will be available in the U.S. beginning in March. Another is the Systane®Complete Preservative-Free Lubricant Eye Drops, which will become available initially throughout Europe.
DAILIES TOTAL1 for Astigmatism is the first and only daily disposable toric lens to feature Water Gradient surface material. This lens material features a gradual increase in water content approaching 100% water at the surface, so all that touches the eye is a cushion of moisture. With the exceptional comfort of Water Gradient lenses, Eye Care Professionals are positioned to fit and keep more astigmatic patients in contact lenses.

PRECISION BALANCE 8|4® lens design: This is the proven stability technology used in both the PRECISION1® and AIR OPTIX® plus HydraGlyde® astigmatism lines. DAILIES TOTAL1 for Astigmatism is designed to settle in an average of 37 seconds.5 On average, primary gaze lens orientation is within 2° of ideal orientation within two minutes. This provides the on-eye stability astigmatic contact lens wearers need for exceptionally clear and stable vision.

SmarTears® Technology: Features the release of an ingredient found naturally in tears that helps to stabilize the lipid layer of the tear film.
The Systane Complete Preservative-Free formula works to provide all-in-one dry eye relief with one drop by hydrating and protecting all layers of the tear film. Alcon’s proprietary formula uses intelligent moisture and lipid delivery to enhance dispersion across the surface of the eye to stabilize the tear film. Its advanced, nano-droplet technology allows for fast-acting hydration, tear evaporation protection, and long-lasting relief for a patient’s eyes.
To ensure the safe delivery of the preservative-free artificial tear, the bottle’s closing tip system was designed using patented PureFlow® technology. The bottle has a one-way valve to ensure that no contaminated liquid is re-introduced into the container after a drop has been dispensed, eliminating the need for preservatives in the eye drops.
DAILIES TOTAL1 for Astigmatism will be available in the U.S. with a full 2,300 parameters beginning in March 2022. SYSTANE® Complete Preservative-Free Lubricant Eye Drops will begin its launch throughout Europe, with additional market launches, including the U.S. and Australia, planned to follow in early 2022.
