 NIDEK Introduces SL-2000 Slit Lamp

NIDEK Co., Ltd., recently announced the introduction of its new SL-2000 Slit Lamp, engineered to provide a clear view of ocular tissue in nearly natural color.

The optical design of the SL-2000 helps to optimize resolution and contrast to visualize ocular tissue in detail, while an increased depth of focus enables better observation of the peripheral fundus. A long-lasting LED light source provides an effective, consistent brightness, and the unique color-temperature relationship of the illumination system allows practitioners to observe in nearly natural color even for a fundus examination. The SL-2000 also features a user-friendly motorized joystick, and smooth vertical movements can be performed even when peripherals are connected to things such as a heavy digital camera or applanation tonometer.

According to NIDEK, they have received CE mark on this product so it is available in the member states of the European union and some other countries. At this moment, the SL-2000 is not cleared by the FDA for sale in the United States.
