Salus PCO, Penn State Form Early Assurance Admission Program

Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus PCO) and Penn State University (Penn State) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to create an Early Assurance Admission Program, providing fourth-semester Penn State students the opportunity to apply for provisional early acceptance into the Doctor of Optometry (OD) program at Salus PCO.

As of July 1, 2017, fourth-semester Penn State students who meet certain criteria will be eligible to participate in the early application process. And eligible students will be asked to submit a detailed application and go through an interview process.

The traditional OD program at Salus PCO reportedly includes a cohort curriculum, early clinical experience, small group learning and 16-month externships. Over the last five years, 39 Penn State undergraduate students have attended Salus PCO’s traditional OD program.
