Prevent Blindness Announces 2017 Summit, Working with Allergan for See America Initiative

Prevent Blindness recently announced the date for its 2017 Focus on Eye Health National Summit in Washington, DC, and reported it would be working with Allergan to sponsor vision screening events across the U.S. as part of its "See America" initiative.

Prevent Blindness will hold its sixth annual Focus on Eye Health National Summit on June 28, 2017, from 7:30am to 3:30pm at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. Under the theme "What's in Sight?" the summit will reportedly include a variety of presentations around key pillars of public health including health policy, surveillance, health promotion and state/community programs.

Attendees of this free event will include patient advocates, national vision and eye health organizations, government representatives, and community-based organizations.  Those unable to attend in person will have an opportunity to watch a live video stream of event presentations as well as follow the event on Twitter at #eyesummit.

As well as learning about the leading causes of preventable blindness and vision loss, attendees will receive a free Prevent Blindness certified vision screening, referral to professional eye care and financial assistance as needed.

Initial See America events are scheduled for Texas, Ohio, North Carolina and Georgia.
