 Safilo Launches Digital Eyewear Museum

The Safilo Group recently launched GalleriaSafilo.com — a new digital museum dedicated to the history and technology of eyewear.

The Cloud-based online museum reportedly allows visitors from all over the world the opportunity to discover and experience selected eyewear from Safilo's collection of 3,000 pieces, including glasses once belonging to the likes of Elvis Presley, Madonna and Elton John, as well as ancient and contemporary works. Pieces are classified by genre, historical period, and brand.

Visitors to GalleriaSafilo.com will have the opportunity to register and create a personal gallery of their favorites, as well as share within social networks.

In addition to the permanent collection, Safilo reportedly plans to feature a calendar of events and temporary exhibitions dedicated to locations, personalities, and new or unseen objects of particular significance to the eyewear world.
