GP Lens Institute Launches New Web Resources

The GP Lens Institute (GPLI) — the educational wing of the Contact Lens Manufacturers Association (CLMA) — has added two new resources to its website, GPLI.info, for staff training and scleral lens troubleshooting.

The new Staff Training Module is designed to educate eye care practice staff on custom contact lenses. The module reportedly includes an 84-page document with a comprehensive overview of lens care pertaining to corneal and scleral GP lenses, hybrids, and custom soft lenses. The section also includes "how to" videos on lensometry and the radiuscope, as well a five-video staff training module from GPLI Advisory Board member Dr. Roxanna Potter covering contact lens care instruction, front desk reception training for contact lenses, pre-testing, and checkout and follow-up training.

And the Scleral Lens Troubleshooting FAQ module includes commonly asked practitioner questions about scleral lenses, with answers provided by experts from the Scleral Lens Education Society and GPLI advisory board members. The module features 113 illustrations and is intended for all practitioners currently fitting and troubleshooting scleral lenses, as well as those interested in learning how to do so.
