 UAB Awarded $2.94M Grant to Continue Eye Care Research

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) was recently awarded a $2.94 million National Eye Institute Center Core Grant, which will be used to support lab managers and provide equipment and other resources needed to advance its research in its School of Optometry and Department of Ophthalmology.

UAB's vision research is reportedly focused on dry eye disease, hereditary retinal degeneration, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, myopia, brain visual pathways, traumatic brain injury and ocular imaging.
