 PEN Offering 5 Educational Events in October

Primary Eyecare Network (PEN), a division of ABB Optical Group, will offer five educational for ECPs in October.

The schedule includes:

Fraud, Waste and Abuse
Oct. 5, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. PDT
Webinar
Free for PEN members; $15 for non-members
This webinar will cover fraud, waste and abuse prevention, as well as tips and tricks to implement audit and staff training processes.

Center for Paraoptometric Education
Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 and 12
Location: 18800 MacArthur Blvd, Irvine, Calif.
Cost: $495 for PEN members; $675 for non-members
The Center for Paraoptometric Education (CPE) is an intensive, hands-on, comprehensive course designed to help new optical staff master the skills they need. The course will cover fundamental optics; prescription verification and troubleshooting; lens types and materials; frames, including styling, adjusting and repairs; selling skills, and more.

The Art of Assortment Planning
October 12, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. PDT
Webinar
Free for PEN members; $15 for non-members
This webinar will focus on adjusting and maximizing frame assortments. Participants will learn how to elevate their customers' retail experience and increase profitability.

Basic Lensometry
Oct. 27, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
1750 N Loop Road Suite 150, Alameda, Calif.
$95 per person for PEN members; $120 per person for non-members
This hands-on workshop is designed as a beginner’s guide. Attendees can expect to learn about lensometer use, care and principles, and acquire practical measurement skills. Approved by the American Board of Opticianry for two hours of continuing education credits.

Advanced Lensometry
Oct. 27, 1 to 4 p.m.
1750 N Loop Road Suite 150, Alameda, Calif.
$95 per person for PEN members; $120 per person for non-members
This workshop will focus on teaching more advanced lensometry skills. Participants will learn to measure prescribed and un-prescribed prisms and progressive lens powers. The course is approved by the American Board of Opticianry for two hours of continuing education credits.
