Transitions ® Signature ® VII Polycarbonate Composite Flat Top 28 Bifocal Lenses Now Available in Brown
Torrance, Calif., June 2016 – Transitions Signature Flat Top 28 polycarbonate composite lenses are now available in both gray and brown. This means even more bifocal wearers can enjoy the unsurpassed photochromic performance of Transitions Signature VII lenses.
Why is this expansion important for eye care practices? Transitions Signature brown is the color of choice for many patients, both for fashion and to enhance contrast. This new lens provides an opportunity for eye care professionals to significantly heighten the satisfaction of patients who wear polycarbonate bifocals. Eight out of 10 patients prefer Transitions Signature lenses to clear lenses, and now eyecare professionals don't have to find another option when bifocal wearers request a Transitions brand lens. They can dispense authentic Transitions Signature lenses in a polycarbonate composite material.
Just how significant is the market for bifocal lenses? Approximately one in five pairs of lenses sold today are segmented multi-focals, and a majority of those are bifocals. “Despite growing demand for progressive and digital designs, there is still a significant demand in the market for segmented lenses,” said Catherine Rauscher, global director for lenscaster partners, Transitions Optical. “Offering patients a choice of color in the leading photochromic technology will allow eyecare professionals to meet this demand and enhance their patients’ satisfaction.”
What is unique about this product? “Younger Optics and Transitions Optical have developed a polycarbonate composite lens that incorporates a thin photochromic front surface bifocal layer made of Trivex ® —resulting in a lens delivering Transitions Signature VII performance and superb segment cosmetics in a product that is surfaced, polished, edged and dispensed just like a clear polycarbonate lens,” said David Rips, president and CEO of Younger Optics. -
Transitions Signature polycarbonate composite flat top 28 lenses are now available in both gray and brown exclusively from Younger Optics. ESSILOR® SUN SOLUTIONTM - TOP QUALITY LENSES
Three mini-movies to make the quality demonstration of the superior features of their sun lenses in a witty and original way.
Essilor® Sun SolutionTM, the Essilor Group division dedicated to sun plano (with no correction) lenses and Rx (with correction) matching plano colors, offers top quality lenses produced with the best technologies developed by the R&D of the Group.
In order to highlight the quality of its products, Essilor® Sun SolutionTM has realized three mini-movies where their characteristics are described in a humorous way: anti-glare, anti-smudge, anti-scratch.
The movies are thought as three short scenes, starring Professor Beetroot, awkward and very little charismatic scientist, who is in charge of quality test, and Jody Jenneker, rugby player coming from South Africa, impassive and unwavering who is in charge of validating the results.
Each movie is organized into 2 steps: in the first, Professor Beetroot tests standard sun lenses. These do not meet requirements! In the second step the test is made on Essilor® Sun SolutionTM sun lenses. They do resist to tests, even the ones that are not really academic! The script of these mini movies has been written by Jacques Chambon, French actor and director who is famous for his role in the French TV show “Kaamelott”.
Julien Santini, a rising and fresh one-man show actor, perfectly embodies Professor Beetroot while Jody Jenneker represents himself for the first time as an actor!
Essilor® Sun SolutionTM has therefore chosen a direct and original language to demonstrate the higher features of its sun lenses. These are targeting manufacturers and eyewear designers who are looking for products that are capable to combine high performance with the latest trends in fashion.
Essilor® Sun SolutionTM’s lenses can meet two main objectives: “See better” - in other words, help the consumers to enjoy a better view of the world by using lenses which reinforce the beauty of authentic colours, and “Better look” by adapting this technology within a range of “on-trend” colours and mirrors.
