 AOA Announces 2016 Award Winners

The American Optometric Association (AOA) recently announced its 2016 Award winners, who will be recognized at the 2016 Optometry's Meeting® Opening General Session, on Wednesday, June 29 in Boston, Mass.

Therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist Dr. Fred Farias III of Texas (pictured here) was named the 2016 Optometrist of the Year for his years of service to his patients, AOA and the profession, as well as his commitment to public service.

Other awardees include Dr. Christopher Wolfe of Nebraska who was named 2016 Young Optometrist of the Year; Dr. Jacqueline Davis of Ohio who was named the 2016 Optometric Educator of the Year; Evelyn Denise Lott, CPOT, of Mississippi is the recipient of the 2016 Paraoptometric of the Year award; and Dr. Roger Seelye of Michigan earned the 2016 Distinguished Service Award.
