Over 2 years in development, the eLVT™ system was co-produced and engineered by Dr. Ian Bailey of UC Berkeley and M&S Technologies. It utilizes the Berkeley Rudimentary Low Vision Test and extends the eETDRS protocol to include tumbling E’s, linear sine gratings and black/white discrimination.
Another industry first from M&S, the eLVT™ system eliminates the need to count fingers or detect hand motion for vision assessment and allows the clinician to determine the visual thresholds of low vision patients with accuracy and repeatability. This automated protocol eliminates all subjectivity in determining visual acuity levels, technician bias and interpretation of subject responses. eLVT™ operates seamlessly with any Smart System® product or can be used as a stand-alone product for clinical trials or research and development.
