Charmant
New from Charmant is the newest sun release from Isaac Mizrahi New York, featuring eyewear that reflects the brand’s timeless, cosmopolitan style. New style IM30222 is the perfect mix of feminine and classic, offering an everyday sunglass for the modern woman, while Style IM30230 features a bold acetate frame accented with refined and sleek metal details on the temples. Both styles IM30226 and IM30234 are all about a sophisticated cat-eye frame — the first is elevated with a metal bar on the frame front for an aviator frame, while the second uses modern color applications to highlight the chunky acetate. And style IM30231 (pictured right) offers a daring play of metal and acetate gives an edge to a classic round style.
Costa Sunglasses
Costa Sunglasses recently launched five new sunglasses for its Core collection, all available in plano and customized Rx. The Bloke is an extra-large frame build for any environment thanks to its bi-lateral fusion technology, which creates a durable chip-proof finish. The Reefton (pictured left) also uses the same fusion of style and function, but comes in a large frame. The Kiwa is made from Costa's durable bio-based nylon and gripping Hydrolite rubber on the nose and temple pads. Stemming from the success of the José frame, Tasman Sea features gripper temple holes in combination with Costa’s Hydrolite rubber keeping these large sized frames in place. And Whitetip’s medium-size and core style has the same features as the Tasman Sea, but also includes cam action pin hinges and a vented frame front to maximize experiences on and around the water.
Cutler and Gross
British luxury eyewear brand Cutler and Gross recently launched its new crystal frame collection at Munich eyewear trade show Opti. The crystal capsule collection re-imagines a handpicked selection of Cutler and Gross’ most iconic frames, creating a juxtaposition of modern construction and time-honored style. Clear Italian crystal acetate showcases the inner workings and construction of the frames, giving a contemporary take on classic shapes. The four-piece capsule collection features two sunglasses — the iconic frame 0734 (pictured right) and modern squared aviator frame 1228 — and two opticals, the oval frame 1026 and the classic rectangular 1214.
Etnia Barcelona
Etnia Barcelona recently launched a variety of new models in its Originals Collection (pictured left). The collection has expanded to include 11 new optical and nine new sunwear models in acetate and metal. Inspired by geometry, the new models feature simple and perfect shapes in an extensive range of colors and new finishes. Turquoises, pinks, pearls, reds, greens and translucent havanas in metallic and transparent finishes for acetate and metal frames in shapes that complement the trends of the season — cats-eye shape, round, and XL acetate glasses. And all the models in this collection are fitted with mineral crystal lenses for maximum protection and greater visual perfection.
ImageWear
ImageWear recently launched new styles for its signature Betsey Johnson collection, featuring a mix of zyl acetate plastic designs and metal styles with unique shapes and colorful patterns. Catwalk features daring colors with strong lines for a one-of-a-kind look, available in Black, Blue or Red with accented temples. And Killer (pictured right) is a chunky, yet girlish look that is daring, yet simple in either Black or Tortoise.
Kenmark Eyewear
New from Kenmark Eyewear are the latest Vera Wang Luxe sunglass styles. The new Ailey (pictured left) is an aviator combination style embellished with Swarovski crystals on the metal hinge, while the Senna is a modern oval full zyl style available in Bordeaux, Dove, Ebony, and Maple Tortoise. The modern square full zyl Veda has three aurous borealis Swarovski crystals in a linear pattern on the temple, and Swarovski crystals also decorate the temples of the titanium Phaenna. The metal modern oval style Yara has a circle of Swarovski crystals on the temple, and the full zyl modern square Liora has a solo faceted Swarovski stone and is hand-polished for a comfortable fit.
The McGee Group
The McGee Group has partnered with Life is Good to help people focus on the good through a whole new lens. The new collection (pictured right) features 16 ophthalmic, 17 sunwear, and 10 reader styles for men, women, teens and kids, all inspired by inspirational people, places and works of art. The eyewear collection features modern and comfortable frames for the entire family in a variety of acetates and eye-catching colors. And each optical frame is named after a "hero of optimism" whose story is an everyday reminder to focus on the good.
Morel Lunettes
Morel Lunettes recently released Abelia from Koali (pictured left). The collection features a twin-material combination of acetate blended into stainless steel, with designs inspired by the tubular flowers and variegated foliage of the Abelia bush. The frames feature outstanding color work with exclusive Koali acetate made up of strands in opaque shades and embedded in a transparent colored base to produce a rich, intense look. There are three lightweight models to choose from, all featuring generous shapes and a range of blended tortoiseshells and bright colors such as purple, ultramarine, fuchsia, raspberry and celadon green.
Nouveau Eyewear
Nouveau Eyewear recently debuted three larger-than-life designs in its "Big Man Fit" Van Heusen Studio Collection. "Big Man Fit" eyewear includes extended end pieces, bowed temples, and/or wider bridges to fit patients who need extra headroom. Style S364 is a sleek, semi-rim design with masculine temples and a contemporary look, while S370 (pictured right) is a modern take on a classic mixed-material look available in Satin Brown (Tortoise) or Satin Gunmetal. And S371 is the ultimate lighter-than-air look with tech-influenced temples and a deeper, on-trend front.
OKIA
Hong Kong-based eyewear company OKIA has welcomed the new year with the Lace Brush collection (pictured left), featuring an authentic explosion of lights and shining details. Inspired by the magic atmosphere and colors of the celebration season, the new collection plays with precious hues of gold, silver and black and, thanks to the application of the 3D Block technique, combines them with different solid materials that are laminated inside the acetate. Wonderful patterns realized through the HDA® Technology harmoniously blend with small pieces of black fabric and gold threads inside a transparent acetate base, creating classy frames sure to light up any look.
PROLET Eyewear
Just in time for the upcoming season, PROLET Eyewear presents its latest creations fresh off the 3D printers (pictured right). Completely made in Germany, the new collection features a mix of materials — a laser-sintered front connected to thin titanium temples, resulting in an elegant and light frame with an average weight of only six grams. And thanks to 3D printing, these new flyweight glasses can be made to meet the individual facial contours of wearers, making every frame convenient and one-of-a-kind.
Safilo Group
The Safilo Group is launching the Havaianas sunglass collection this month, featuring four best-selling shapes with a variety of sizes and countless color combinations, all named after famous Brazilian beach destinations — Rio, Paraty, Trancoso and Noronha (pictured left). Each frame features Havaianas comfortable rubber finishing with the famous rice pattern present in the sole of its flip-flops. Additionally, the collection features a special style called Brasil with a front produced in acetate, featuring layers with the colors of the Brazilian flag. And all sunglasses feature lenses with UVA/UVB protection with solid, gradient or mirrored finishes.
Additionally, Safilo recently unveiled its new SafiloX platform — and its first application in the Smith Lowdown Focus Mpowered by Muse sunglasses — at the CES Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January. Looking like a regular pair of sunglasses, all the technical aspects of the Smith Lowdown Focus have been miniaturized and seamlessly integrated into the design of the frame. Two sensors on the temple tips and three on the nose pad detect brainwaves and eye movement. The sunglasses connect via Bluetooth and thanks to an app, they allow users to monitor the pattern of their brain activity to meditate, improve mental focus and performance.
UX by X-IDE
New from UX by X-IDE is a collection referencing the world of young people — their creativity and verve — and designed to offer a product that blends aesthetics with high performance. Styles Denise and Amedeo — for him and her — are made in ultra-light TR90 and feature an exclusive and original screwless hinge design, with a two-level front resulting in unique graduated color shades. And the Biagio (pictured right) and Dany styles for men feature two-color steel with silicone-covered sidepieces with a twister system, allowing creativity aficionados to play with frame colorways.
Vuarnet
Vuarnet recently announced the introduction of Glacier x Spring (pictured left) — a limited edition style designed for luxury Paris department store Printemps, available in limited quantities at U.S. optical and specialty retailers. Glacier x Spring features blue mirrored mineral glass lenses and lightweight, matte black, metal frames accented by brilliant blue removable snakeskin side shields with center bridge detail. While this style retains the performance features that Glacier is known for, this latest introduction reflects the growing urban appeal of the iconic Glacier.
Xavier Garcia Barcelona
New from Xavier Garcia Barcelona is the new Flex Acetate frames collection for Spring 2017, featuring six new models with a lot of character. The new EIM style is a feminine cat-eye clearly inspired by the 1950s, while the ELSA is a youthful and basic style, featuring a straight graphic-style line against a fresh and summery color palette. Also for women, ESTER is a large rectangular classic style with balanced proportions. For men, MARSAL (pictured right) is an aviator-shaped frame with highly masculine features; MASIP features a round shape with a double bridge; and MASSANA has a reduced rounded shape with a retro style.
Zimco Optics
Zimco Optics veteran Sierra collection brings precision eyewear design and coloration to the marketplace. For decades, they have insured each frame is carefully balanced for style and function while maintaining design characteristics synonymous with this collection. The newest arrival to this collection, the S 349 (pictured left), offers translucent color schemes combined with tortoise inspired temples. The entire Sierra collection includes metal and plastic frames, with an assortment of temples spring-hinged and standard, as well as a variety of shapes and sizes, classic colors.
Zyloware Eyewear
Zyloware Eyewear has new releases this month for a number of its brands. There are three new styles for Sophia Loren — the semi-rimless metal M264 with an embossed floral design and crystal décor; full rim metal Beau Rivage 75 available in Gold and Cognac; and full rim zyl style 1550 (pictured right) with a rounded cut-out pattern on the temple lined with crystal stones. Style 4049 by Gloria Vanderbilt is a stunning semi-rimless metal frame is in a flattering modified oval shape, while Gloria By Gloria Vanderbilt 4050 delivers feminine styling in a fashion-forward shape in three color options. The new MaxStudio.com 151M is a bold, semi-rimless metal frame was made to take charge and stand out in a crowd, while MaxStudio.com 152M is a modified oval shape for an on-trend look.
For men, the new Randy Jackson Limited Edition X129 brings forward bold styling and masculine appeal with a full rim zyl frame in a modern, round shape. And there's four new Stetson styles to choose from — the slim-looking Stetson Zylo-Flex 717 and semi-rimless rectangle-shaped Stetson Zylo-Flex 718, both made with memory metal so they're built to last; the stylish Stetson Off Road 5056 full rim metal frame available in Black and Gunmetal; and the sleek, semi-rimless metal Stetson Off Road 5057 that demands a ton of attention.
