Dolphin Computer Access Launches Free Accessible Reading App

To celebrate their 30th anniversary, Dolphin Computer Access has launched a free reading iOS app for blind, low vision and dyslexic readers across the globe.

The EasyReader app can be used on both the iPhone and iPad, and can be downloaded for free from the iTunes store. The app has reportedly been specifically designed for readers with a vision or print impairment and has no restrictions to accessibility. Low vision readers can reportedly make their book’s text as large as their sight requires, and can adjust colors, highlights and contrast as needed. Blind readers can "add speech" to books and newspapers, and readers with dyslexia can read with dyslexia-friendly fonts and colors with synchronized text and audio.

The EasyReader app also reportedly includes access to popular accessible library services including Bookshare®, NFB-NEWSLINE®, RNIB Bookshare, Legimus, NLB and Vision Australia. The app can be downloaded in English, French, German, Norwegian and Swedish, with other languages reportedly due to follow shortly. And EasyReader for Android is reportedly set to be released in late summer 2017.
