12-Year-Old Running to Raise Money for Seva Foundation

Twelve-year-old Nikolas Toocheck is in the midst of a campaign to run a marathon in each of the 50 states in an effort to raise money for the Seva Foundation.

Through his campaign, Nikolas' goal is reportedly to help children in need receive the gift of sight. The funds raised will support Seva's pediatric programs to prevent blindness and preserve eyesight.

Last year, Nikolas — who learned about the importance of eye care from his father, who is an eye doctor — completed another campaign where he ran a marathon on all seven continents to raise money for Operation Warm, which provides new winter coats to kids in need. According to his website, Nikolas has already completed 31 of the 50 states. In 2015, Nikolas also received a Community Leadership Award from the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition and a GlobeChanger award from the Jefferson Awards Foundation.
