REBIScan, Inc. recently announced it had received market clearance through the "de novo" pathway for its Pediatric Vision Scanner (PVS) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The PVS is a hand-held device designed to help physicians screen for amblyopia and strabismus in young children as early as preschool age. The company is reportedly targeting a limited release of devices over the coming months. In addition to the PVS, REBIScan reportedly has other ocular scanning technologies under development, including a new tool for diagnosing traumatic brain injury.
