ClearVision Optical
ClearVision Optical recently introduced six new styles to its Ellen Tracy eyewear collection. The new Perth is a metal combo frame with a pillowed rectangle eye shape and flat metal brow for linear texture, while Shima has a wire rim and brow, and multicolored acetate temples with metal accents for a textured, organic design. Manchester is a full acetate style with solid colored front and multicolored temples, and Halle has a soft square eye shape with a metal plaque on the temples for a subtle design element. The acetate combo, modified square shape frame Albury features metal temples with on-trend ombré colorations and a textured design, and Lisbon (pictured right) is an acetate frame with an almond eye shape, crystal stone embellishments, and unique fade colorations.
ClearVision Optical also recently expanded its private label collection, Junction City, with four new optical styles — two for men and two for women. For woman, the new Bay Park is an acetate combo frame with an almond eye shape and vibrant, multicolored front available in Berry Multi and Teal Horn, while Sedona is a metal combo frame with a modified rectangle eye shape with ombré-colored temples designed with TR-90. And for men, Prospect Park is an acetate frame with a sporty rectangle shape and enamel accents for subtle detailing, while Rockford is a semi rimless, flat metal frame that gives today's man a classic look.
Morel Lunettes
New from Morel Lunettes are two new concepts for Lightec. Lightec offers four feminine, innovative models with Delta 6B (pictured left) — a contemporary stainless steel concept that focuses on slimness and lightness, and fitted with the Delta hinge. Additionally, some models feature vintage conventions such as a pantos shape fitted with a reworked keyhole bridge, and long, two-color endtips covered with tortoiseshell on the inside of the temple. And through Delta 3A, Lightec offers four new models for men, all with a retro feel. Each model has an understated stainless-steel front and ultra slim, two-layer acetate temples, and all fitted with the Delta hinge.
Persol
Persol is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a limited-edition, design embellished in 18-carat gold — the Persol 9649SG Limited Edition (pictured right). This handmade design of only 200 numbered pieces projects the legendary brand into the future by enhancing the elegance of iconic Persol details, including the famous arrow, for the first time made of 18-carat gold. Adorned with details such as the “750 gold” marking on the arrow, the Persol centennial date and the limited-edition certification engraved in gold on the inside of the temples. And Persol’s 9649 model is also being celebrated for the 100th anniversary in a light Havana version evolving the unmistakable design of the new flex arrow.
Plan "B" Eyewear
Plan "B" Eyewear's Glacée adds three new acetate models for the summer to its Glacée collection. Featuring stunning and bold color combinations, these new frames offer a unique look from every angle. Deep, elegant blues, browns and whites play with hints of shimmer to create something interesting and eclectic. Complimentary frame shapes in the GL6851, GL6852 and GL6853 (pictured left) mean these frames are bold yet wearable for the woman who loves to make a statement with her eyewear.
RETROSUPERFUTURE
New from RETROSUPERFUTURE is an original and innovative collection for Summer 2017, featuring warm summer hues, exceptional materials and unexpected finishes. Standouts include the Rita (pictured right) that takes oversized one step further, playing with the structural elements of the frame that results in a unique new silhouette. The new Lamina features a pure and clean design that hides an articulate production process that fuses together three different types of acetate to create a unique combination of colors. And well-loved model Impero Blu gets a fresh update for Summer 2017 for those who wish to spruce up their classic black shades without compromising wearability and simplicity.
Safilo Group
Safilo Group's Polaroid Eyewear has launched new sunwear combining pop colors with 100 percent UV protection, thanks to the brand's polarized lenses (pictured left). The new collection features two sunglasses — a feminine 1970s-inspired oversize rounded model (PLD 2053/S), and a unisex style with a smaller, rounded silhouette (PLD 4052/S). Both models feature lightweight metal frames and come with an array of semi-transparent polarized lenses in pastel hues of yellow, pink, green and blue. And all Polaroid sunglasses come with UltraSight™ lenses, for distortion-free vision, enhanced contrast, and reduction of eye fatigue.
Tura
New from Tura are four new styles featuring a modernized look as the brand widens its scope to embrace not only its original audience, but a younger, high fashion woman. While still holding true to its jewelry background, some of the new design elements in the modernized Tura collections include sleek, high polished metal accents, expressive custom acetates, and two-tone plating. New frame R545 features a geometric front lens shape with custom printed temples, designed for today's generation of sophisticated women who know how to style themselves to look and feel younger. Rectangular shape R546 (pictured right) with an uplifting brow line draws in modern jewelry inspiration through the application of high-polished metal inlays in the temporal corners, while R547 is a semi-rimless cat-eye shape with two-tone plating, studs and expressive acetates. And R214 is a rectangular cat-eye featuring a custom marble pattern acetate material for a high fashion look.
Xavier García Barcelona
The new Xavier García Barcelona Summer 2017 collection is based on the concept of collage, with eight new models — five for women and three for men. The new Fabiola is an oversized square design with a retro look and gentle harmonies in light brown, while Fedra is a reduced size, slightly cat-eye frame with a two-tone combination front in a wide range of colors. Filo is a rounded cat-eye design with a laminate on the upper frame to emphasize the arch of the eyebrow, while Fiona is a rectangular design with a sinuous laminate that runs across the front frame in a gentle line. And Flora (pictured left) rounds out the new women's models with a rounded cat-eye with an emphatic arch and collage-like play of colors. For men, Massot is a square design with an eye-catching profile and clear architectural references, while Mateu is a harmonious bi-color front that contrasts with the mono-color laminated detail on the temples. And Mayan is a square design with a sophisticated chromatic range.
ZIG Eyewear
New from ZIG Eyewear USA is the release of the spring/summer collections of ZIGGY® and Jean Reno Eyewear by designer Cendrine O (pictured right). The new ZIGGY® spring collection is full of surprises, featuring design firsts and enhancements to best sellers that will delight fans of the designer. Beautiful details include laser engraving, a unique textured "film" added to the stainless steel in various muted colors and pastel shades, as well as triple layering of acetates to bring the frames to life. And Cendrine O.’s Jean Reno line features 1960s styles, glossy pop-art references, faux-wood detailing, mixed material pairings, and exciting color combinations.
Zimco Optics
National Sunglass Day is June 27th, and perhaps the most easily recognizable sunglass shape in the world is the aviator — characterized by dark, often reflective lenses, very thin metal frames with double or triple bridges, and bayonet earpieces or flexible cable temples that hook behind the ears. Zimco Optics' Sunstopper (pictured left) updates the classic aviator shape with two stylish colors — Matte Black or Shiny Gold — and equips them with 400 UVA/UVB lens to protect the eyes while still looking fabulous.
