The new styles also feature reinvented shapes from vintage trends and styles, and special detailing such as laser-cut etchings on the metal rods of the temples.

MorelMorel Lunettes

This past year, Morel Lunettes has refreshed its Koali brand with new designs that reflect an even more sophisticated and elegant brand. This continues with the latest style for Koali called Leaf (pictured left), where the fine veins of leaves are emulated in a lace-like stainless steel design on the frame's front. The new Leaf style is available in five different models.

And Morel recently launched its latest concept for Lightec. The new Delta 6A style combines acetate and stainless steel to create contemporary frames for women. Four dual-sided stainless steel/acetate combo models feature innovative construction techniques. These ultra-light frames feature vintage conventions such as a pantos shape fitted with a reworked keyhole bridge and long, two-color endtips covered with tortoiseshell on the inside of the temple.

MYKITAMYKITA

New from MYKITA is a fourth concept for its design series MYKITA Studio (pictured right). Inspired by a modular mode of construction, the collection comprises three bold stainless steel shapes: the cat-like 4.1, the squared 4.2 and the round 4.3. Each model is segmented into three separate yet harmonizing colors that have been meticulously hand-lacquered on both the inside and outside of the frame.

Nouveau EyewearNouveau Eyewear

New from Nouveau Eyewear are two new designs with glittering, jeweled accents for spring from Kay Unger Eyewear. New style K192 is an instant classic with a slight cat-eye front, rich textured colors and glittering clusters of microstones on each temple, available in black, blue or brown. And K196 (pictured left) features a blend of premium materials with a lightweight metal front, and opulent zyl temples that feature signature jeweled stones, available in satin black, satin brown or satin purple.

OKIAOKIA

The new Gold Paradise collection from OKIA (pictured right) pays homage to the most precious color ever — gold. Through the use of the CSB (Crazy Sparkling Beauty) technique, twinkling gold foil is placed within the acetate, producing an extraordinary and sophisticated visual effect. And the brand's patented HDA® Technology creates a unique 3D outcome that makes each frame even more eye-catching.

Philippe VPhilippe V

Philippe V recently launched its first-ever optical collection at Vision Expo East, featuring a perfect blend of subtlety, coolness and functionality. The X Series (pictured left) feature titanium frames that are extremely light, comfortable and sophisticated. Part protective and part solar, the X frames morph into a two-in-one piece that protects from computer vision syndrome and harmful sun rays. Prescription lenses can also be easily mounted on if needed.

RetrosuperfutureRETROSUPERFUTURE

The spring/summer 2017 collection from RETROSUPERFUTURE features both new sun and optical styles, all drawing inspiration from craftsmanship, material and technological innovation to shape their avant-garde design. Standouts from the sun collection include the new shape Arca that blends past styles and references into a unique metal and acetate silhouette, and the Opaco (pictured right) that introduces a new design featuring matte mirror lenses characterized by a non-glossy, hazed mirror appearance. And for the optical collection, standouts include the bold Numero 24 inspired by retro-style eyewear designs adapted for contemporary use, and the statement-making Numero 22 featuring an elaborate and refined roundesque frame.

SafiloSafilo

Safilo has gone back to its roots with the spring 2017 reintroduction of its own flagship Elasta ophthalmic collection (pictured left). The new collection will be targeted exclusively to men and includes 20 ophthalmic styles aimed at men ages 40 and up who are looking for eyewear that personifies quality and styles without a designer name. The collection can best be described as modern but not trendy, functional with attention to detail, and strong and durable for a perfect fit.

UX by X-ideUX by X-Ide

New from UX by X-Ide is a new collection featuring clean, eye-catching lines, sure to meet the needs of the younger set. The feminine Alice and Noemi styles frame the eyes with a sophisticated and slightly cat-eye silhouette. The former comes in purple, green, fuchsia and blue, and the latter in black, tortoise-shell, purple and blue. And for men, Fulvio (pictured right) and Gioele come in two different shapes — one generously-sized and barely-squared, available in black, green, blue and red, has a modern, intellectual appeal; and the other, with a keyhole bridge and round lenses, in more classic colors, perfectly in keeping with today’s appetite for all things vintage.

Zimco OpticsZimco Optics

Zimco Optics Inc.® continues to excite with their English Laundry Eyewear and Sunwear collections (pictured left), featuring stylish yet sensible eyewear on the cutting edge of fashion. The entire line harkens back to the days of rock-n-roll, rebels without a cause, and the original British Invasion. From classic cat-eye shapes, to frames reminiscent of Buddy Holly, this practical (but by no means boring) unique eyewear collection; stays true to the iconic brand’s signature style.
