The Frame Update — August 18, 2016

A&A Optical

A&A Optical recently announced the release of new styles for XXL™ Eyewear — engineered for the man with special fit needs with longer temples to match the ample head space in eye sizes 51 to 63. The new Bearcat frame is a modified rectangle frame that plays with gradient color in shiny acetate, available in black, black demi (with gradient browns) and blue demi (with blue and brown undertones). And Mastodon (pictured right) mixes sophistication and edge with an acetate front and combination temples, available in black with gold accents or smoke and tortoise with silver accents.

BlackfinBlackfin

Blackfin's upcoming Autumn/Winter 2016-2017 collection will be previewed at Silmo in September, and features a mix of new spectacle and sunwear designs that favor rounded shapes and unisex designs such as the new Saint Martin BF769 (pictured left). This frame includes a double arched bridge and curvaceous lines with either a natural shiny or satin titanium finish. And all Blackfin frames feature Swordfish temple tips with break-off guides that allow temples to be shortened in three simple moves. 

EBlock EyewearEBlock Eyewear

New from EBlock Eyewear is the B-Side Vibe collection (pictured right) — crystal version spectacles available also in colored transparent acetate. The new Vibe models are all made with nylon, resulting in a super lightweight frame that was developed over months of testing. The frames are also characterized by new shapes, both sleek and engaging, with a strong, decisive design. And each frame features the brand's Easy Block locking system — signified by a block on the side of the temples — that makes the process of locking the lenses easy and safe for opticians.

KenmarkKenmark Eyewear

New for the smaller set are five new frame styles for the Lilly Pulitzer Girls collection from Kenmark Eyewear. Cozy (pictured left) is a full zyl cat eye style featuring signature Lilly Pulitzer prints on the temples. Amalie is a metal/zyl combo frame with an enamel-filled elephant plaque and colorful acetate temples, while Korra is a full zyl style frames sporting the same pachyderm plaque. Bayberry is a full zyl style frame with two-tone gradient front acetate colors with an enamel-filled metal flower on the temples, and Livie is a full zyl acetate frame available in three tortoise colors — aqua, green and ocean.

MorelMorel

Morel has recently released the Clématis 2 frame (pictured right) for Koali, featuring a two-tone (inside/outside) stainless steel front. Clématis is based on the effects of movement, depth and texture using exclusive acetate developed by Morel for Koali in partnership with Mazzucchelli. The material is produced in a complex manufacturing process, resulting in three different textures and densities that ripple randomly through a translucent colored base, evoking the delicate pattern at the center of the Clématis flower. Clématis 2 is available in three models in a palette of eight colors -- purple, violet, plum, wine, brown, blue, teal, and grey.

Nouveau EyewearNouveau Eyewear

The latest frames from Nouveau Eyewear include the new jeweled styles for its Phoebe fashion collection. The P284 optical frame is available in rich hues of black, brown or blue with softer pastel temples, while the semi-rimless P285 optical frame (pictured left) comes in satin black, brown or navy is paired with rich burgundy, olive or navy temples. And all of these new frames are given a touch of glamour with a dazzling cluster of jeweled accents on each temple.

And Nouveau has also released new rimless styles for its premiere men's collection, Van Heusen Eyewear. Known for its "Big Man Fit" technology with extended headroom, Van Heusen is now expanding its rimless assortment with the H131 and H132 optical frames. The H131 features vented temples and slim temple tips and comes in satin brown or satin silver. And the H132 comes in shiny brown or shiny silver with classic temples in brown or black. 

Ogi EyewearOgi Eyewear

New from Ogi Eyewear is the latest men's style for its Heritage Collection. Style 7161 (pictured right) features a contemporary design with vintage-inspired detailing. Handcrafted from three layers of premium acetate, the rectangular-shaped frame sports tortoiseshell temples fastened by triple-barrel hinges and silver dual-pin detailing to register a certain vintage-inspired quality. The frame is available in a range of neutral color options.

Plan B EyewearPlan "B" Eyewear

It's all about timeless style for men with the latest Headlines frames (pictured left) from Plan "B" Eyewear. Both metal and acetate models are available, with acetates presented in micro-thin designs for a lighter, more minimalistic feel, while brushed metal inserts, fine patterns, interesting textures and eye-catching colors help create a luxurious, masculine look.

Safilo GroupSafilo Group

Juicy Couture Black Label from Safilo Group recently announced its Fall/Winter 2016 eyewear collection, featuring a renewed sense of glam. New frames include the Juicy 586S sunglasses inspired by a Juicy Couture necklace through the use of oversized gold chain detailing on the metal temples, and Juicy 584/S with a bold and distinctly modern materials mix for a jet-setting style. The Juicy 582/S sunglasses feature a tear drop aviator shape with a double bridge, and the Juicy 166 optical acetate frame has a rectangular shape and an intricate gold chain link design on the temples.

Also for Fall/Winter 2016 is the new eyewear collection from Kate Spade New York, inspired by the Bohemian spirit of sires, divas and creative firebirds of the stage. First up is the Luann/S cat eye sunglasses (pictured right) that are inspired by masquerade ball masks and embellished with Swarovski crystals. The Amarissa/S sunglasses and Caylen optical frames are inspired by jazz, featuring shiny gold metal accents. And the Katelee/S sunglass, Khrista/S sunglass and LaDonna optical frame offer spellbinding sparkle thanks to glittery fronts and dramatic, wide temples.

And Safilo Group has also introduced the Fall/Winter 2016 eyewear collection for Fossil, all featuring clean lines and modern looks. The FOS 2000/L/S unisex aviator sunglasses are metal frames with a double-bridge and metal rivets, while both the FOS 2040/S and FOS 2041/S square shaped sunglasses have acetate fronts and temples with faux leather inserts. The masculine FOS 6076 optical frame has a vintage-inspired rectangular shape with handmade acetate along the brow bar and nose bridge, and the FOS 6075 square shaped optical frame are available in red horn, Havana and black and are complemented by arrow-shaped temples in faux leather.

Zimco OpticsZimco Optics

The latest frames in the Harve Benard collection (pictured left) from Zimco Optics focus on the uncommon integration of shapes, materials and colors, while instantaneously giving its wearer a cohesive look. The latest frames in the women's collection centers on the fashion forward lifestyle, while the men's collection features strong silhouettes and bold colors. The entire collection caters to the individuality of each wearer, while also placing a strong emphasis on value, quality and modern style.

ZylowareZyloware

Zyloware recently announced the latest frame styles for the Shaquille O’Neal Squad Eyewear Collection — sized and designed for younger guys with an active lifestyle. Both the 501M and 502M frames are full rim metal frames with a modified oval shape and lightweight memory bridge. The 503M is a rectangular semi-rimless metal frame offered in shiny black or matte gunmetal finishes with fun pops of color on the temple, while the 504Z is constructed from TR-90 thermoplastic to make it lightweight, durable and flexible. And both the rectangular full rim 505Z (pictured right) and 506Z frames are also made from TR-90 thermoplastic with memory temples and sports-inspired, on trend colors.

Additionally, Zyloware announced September 2016 launches for Sophia Loren, Stetson, Stetson Off Road, Via Spiga and MaxStudio.com. Two new frames for Sophia Loren — Burgundy and Cognac — feature crystal stone décor on the temples and wrapped endpieces for luxury, while MaxStudio.com 150M adds a classic twist to any look with a full rim metal frame, modified oval shape and beveled detailing. The new Via Spiga Elisa is a full rim metal frame available in black with brown temples and cognac pearl confetti or brown with a bold violet temple, and the Ofelia is a full rim zyl frame available in black with blonde tortoise temples or navy with blue pearl marble pattern on the outside. And all three new frames from Stetson — 331 — and Stetson Off Road — 5054 and 5055 — feature masculine rectangle-shaped frames with clean, sleek and classic styling.
