PEN Forms Practice Development Organization, Plans Free Myopia Symposium

ABB Optical Group recently it is merging Diversified Buying Group and the ECP Network — both part of Diversified Ophthalmics — with its division, Primary Eyecare Network (PEN), to create one practice development organization under the PEN name.

The merger will reportedly provide members with access to a broad range of practice development resources, educational events for practitioners and staff, vendor discounts and rebates, and account management services. And members of Diversified Buying Group and the ECP Network will reportedly have immediate access to PEN’s new online educational portal, offering on-demand webinars and continuing education classes.

Additionally, PEN will offer a free myopia symposium on Sunday, August 6 from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm at the San Ramon Marriot, 2600 Bishop Drive in San Ramon. The morning session will reportedly cover evidence-based management of progressive myopia, and the lunch session will cover wet lab training and certification. The symposium is pending approval for three hours of Council on Optometric Practitioner Education (COPE) credits.

The event is sponsored by ABB OPTICAL GROUP and Paragon Vision Sciences, and attendance is free. To register or for more information, visit PrimaryEye.net or e-mail [email protected].
