B+L Recycling Program Helps Save 180,000+ Contact Lenses and Blister Packs from Landfills

Since the program's launch in November 2016, over 180,000 units of used contact lenses and blister packs have been recycled through the Bausch + Lomb (B+L) ONE by ONE Recycling Program.

To date, over 1,800 optometry offices have reportedly signed up to recycled used contact lenses and blister packs through the program, which was developed by B+L in collaboration with TerraCycle.

Last week, B+L took part in an Earth Day celebration on April 18th in New York City to help further educate consumers about the ONE by ONE Recycling Program. Attendees were reportedly invited to learn how they can recycle their used contact lenses and blister packs through the program, as well as how their waste would help support Optometry Giving Sight.

Through the B+L ONE by ONE Recycling Program, contact lens wearers can recycle their used Biotrue® ONEday contact lenses and blister packs, as well as other contact lenses and blister packs at no cost to them. For each pound of waste that is recycled through the program, B+L will reportedly make a $1 donation to Optometry Giving Sight. For more information on the program, visit BauschRecycles.com.
